好的翻译除了要传达出原文的意思，更应如许渊冲先生所说：要创造“美”，要讲究“意美、音美和形美”，希望读者能感受到美，“知之、好之、乐之”。

今天，来看一些让人惊叹的妙译。

In me the tiger sniffs the rose.

这是英国诗人萨松的句子。

余光中把它翻译成：

心有猛虎，细嗅蔷薇。

猛虎之刚，细嗅之柔，存于一心，

这样的冲突和对比，

谁看了不说一句：妙啊！

Let life be beautiful

like summer flowers

and death like autumn leaves.

出自泰戈尔《飞鸟集》。

郑振铎把它翻译成：

使生如夏花之绚烂，死如秋叶之静美。

这可能是最经典的翻译之一，

夏花与秋叶，成为某种永恒的意象，

绚烂和静美，

形容出了无可比拟的盛大和感伤。

The ploughman

homeward plods his weary way,

And leaves the world

to darkness and to me.

出自英国诗人格雷的《墓地哀歌》。

钱锺书将其翻译成：

农夫倦步长道回家，

仅余我与暮色平分此世界。

这首诗翻译版本众多，

但钱老的翻译有一种浪漫凄婉的美感，

虽然是哀歌，但并不沉重，

“我与暮色平分此世界”一句，

带着一种潇洒、率然和豁达。

钱老还曾将歌德的《漫游者的夜歌》

翻译成：

微风收木末，

群动息山头。

鸟眠静不噪，

我亦欲归休。

是不是瞬间有了陶渊明诗中的意境，

微风煦煦，远山淡淡，悠然宁静，

一首外国诗译出了中国古诗的韵味。
